Who we are

Tiesha Guichard – Founder of The Halo House

Tiesha Guichard’s journey to founding The Halo House is deeply personal. Having grown up in an environment marked by domestic violence, she knows firsthand the pain, fear, and uncertainty that come with living in an unsafe home. Tiesha’s own experiences shaped her understanding of the critical need for second chances, particularly for those who are most vulnerable.

After witnessing the heartbreaking reality of women and children having to return to abusive homes simply because they had nowhere else to go, Tiesha knew she had to make a difference. She began helping individuals find places to go when they had no other options, often stepping in personally to ensure they had the safe space they desperately needed.

Over the years, she’s used her background as a licensed broker, to relocate people who were in immediate danger. She’s used her own resources to move women and children to safety, including emergency cases when Tiesha’s been able to relocate people within days, knowing the urgency and gravity of the situation.

Her work is not bound by office hours. She’s received calls in the middle of the night from women needing urgent help. Whether it’s finding a safe home for a woman kicked out of her family’s house or helping someone start over after escaping violence, Tiesha does whatever it takes to make sure no one is left behind.

Tiesha’s commitment to breaking the cycle of violence and homelessness stems from a deep love for children and a desire to create a better future. Having lost her own brother at a young age, due to the lack of support and resources, she understands the power of a second chance. For her, helping children escape violence is about giving them the opportunity to build a life free from fear—a life that’s full of hope, stability, and respect.

Through The Halo House, Tiesha is not only providing shelter but creating a community where people learn to value and respect their community. She believes that when people have a place to call their own, they are empowered to stand up for themselves and their neighborhoods. By teaching people how to sustain where they live, she’s helping them reclaim their dignity and ultimately transform their futures.

Tiesha’s work is driven by a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves a chance to break free from the past and build a better tomorrow.
